Invitation to Join as a Mentor: Strengthening Iran’s Legal Future
Dear Iranian Legal Professionals in the Diaspora,
The Legal Mentorship Program is a groundbreaking initiative by LegaMart designed to connect fresh Iranian law graduates with top legal talents from the global Iranian diaspora. This voluntary program aims to support Iranian students who face isolation and limited opportunities due to the country’s disconnected legal ecosystem.
Our Vision:
To help recent Iranian law graduates achieve their dream jobs and career paths through the guidance of experienced Iranian legal professionals in the diaspora who want to give back to the community.
Program Overview:
- Voluntary Participation: Mentorship sessions are voluntary, with no obligation for ongoing commitment. Mentors can choose to provide guidance for a single session or continue as they wish.
- Minimal Honorarium: While the primary focus is voluntary mentorship, we offer a minimal honorarium as a token of appreciation for your valuable time and expertise.
- Free for Mentees: This program is free for mentees, allowing them to benefit from learning opportunities without financial barriers.
Mentor Expectations and Time Commitment:
- Personalized Mentorship: Provide guidance through 3 one-on-one mentorship sessions with mentees.
- Flexibility: Mentors can engage at their convenience, with the option to discontinue sessions at any time.
- Communication: Actively engage with mentees and provide feedback on their progress.
Program Structure and Objectives:
Usually, the law student is looking for mentorship for their career path, studying abroad, and exploring international career options. We connect you with a mentee that best matches your profile, and you’ll meet them through Google Meet or Zoom.
- User-Friendly Platform: Supports mentees with CV writing courses, digital skills training, advocacy skill development, and legal tech career path guidance.
- Needs-Based Design: Developed based on in-depth interviews with over 15 fresh graduates and students to identify their key needs and challenges.
Goals:
- Attracting Mentors: Aim to attract 50+ mentors from the Iranian diaspora.
- Supporting Mentees: Targeting 150 mentees for the program.
- Educational Resources: Publishing 5 training videos and 5 booklets/toolkits on key legal topics.
- Webinars and Projects: Conducting several webinars and launching a small advocacy project with selected mentors and mentees.
Governance Structure:
LegalMentorship is a groundbreaking voluntary initiative by LegaMart that connects fresh Iranian law graduates with top legal talents from the global Iranian diaspora. As part of LegaMart’s social responsibility and the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers, a team oversees the program’s implementation to ensure both mentors and mentees receive the support they need for a successful and enriching experience.
