Zahra Tahsili

I am an Associate Lawyer at McQuarrie Hunter LLP, having been called to the British Columbia Bar, Canada, on July 7, 2023. I hold an LL.M. in Common Law from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (2022), as well as a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tehran (2004) and an LL.M. in U.S. and Global Business Law from Suffolk University in Boston (2009).

I possess expertise in Iranian and U.A.E. law, along with a foundational understanding of U.S. law. As a member of the Iranian Bar Association, I have practiced law in Iran and the U.A.E. for approximately 16 years.

Throughout my career, I have provided legal counsel to international and local corporations of various sizes, specializing in corporate and commercial law as well as contract law. For six years, I served as an in-house lawyer for leading technology startups in Iran, gaining significant experience in business development initiatives.

Over the past year, I have transitioned my practice from corporate and commercial law to Wills and Estates, a field I find particularly fascinating, with experience in both estate administration and litigation.

I am a published author, having co-authored the book “Iran and International Sanctions.”
